Simplicity Is the optimum solution to make it work!

Hi all ,

Actually I was quite confused and annoying as I could see that many discussions made to sell software or promote a certain company with the one or the other way . I though ok digital ship was not the site that  we finally had to discuss what are the real daily problems in shipping industry and more specifically in "DIGITAL" way of view.

So please I make a suggestion that from now on we should discuss issues and exchange our experience  ONLY !

We have all to accept that the information received for various issues related with our work is too much which we have to filter and forward in a 'tasty' type to our vessels . PMS , Purchasing , ISM themes related and all connected and I know that you will say that there are softwares that we can benefit etc. etc. but I say that someone with specific skills and knowledge must handle all these and distribute in a profesionall way the filtered and important information to the head of departments .That SOMEONE must  have knowledge of IT , PMS requirements - especially in Tanker companies where we have specific requirements with TMSA , Purchasing knowledge of course and ISM-ISPS .

My suggestion and let start a really important discussion is that it is very difficult a Shipping Company to find out that type of employee or they have to start thinking of creating a new position to train first by providing all these information from all departments involved and then that employee start utilize the information for the benefit of the company.

Simplicity is the optimum solution to make it work , or otherwise the companies will finally create employees with basic skills that will only pass the information to the vessels and the poor and unprotected seaman will have to present on his discrete.
